I'm so happy I'm marrying Deirdre
she's my best friend and my hero
she understands me before I do
forever she will be my wife
who calms my fury with her quiet eyes
an earthquake shattering my foolish whims
a flood of gentle kisses
and coffee grinding in the morning
before I stumble out the door
and leave her all my wishes

Sbarro

Her eyes fall slowly
catching on molasses skies
looking up
she drops her dress
praying for another breath
another life
another kiss before this death
The little girl
her heart sinks slowly
all around her fade the others
the screams of sons
and screams of mothers
she cannot see the shattered glass
nor feel the pains of all the others
she cannot hear them crying all around
nor whisper back her dying words
that life is but a stolen kiss
her eyes fall slowly as they wave goodbye
