She writes me letters, writes me those letters that can make a boy out of a man.
My life, where have you gone without me?
My wife, where have you been?
I just stepped outside for some air
when brushed by the wind within her hair
she cried keep me.

Sealing letters, waiting days for their arrival in her hands,
I send my love.
My wife to be, where are you
that you are so far away from me?

When I read about her love for me
in letters from her hands
I fight the tears that keep on coming,
defeated by the space between our worlds.

My darling, where are you that your face is unappraised,
hidden in the east beneath an antique maze?
Your beauty can't remain unpraised.
You are mine and mine alone to claim.
I've got a letter here which bears your name.
And I'm giving you my last name...
take it, and take my heart, and pierce its waxy seal
the way your lovely eyes steal and run my destiny away with you.
