In light of Grace
The snow and cold of winter
drop us like the thoughts of summer
every year our hearts can feel
the weight of feet and inches
and that is not enough to measure
the gift that grows within us
lately I'm convinced
my love,
that we are twins
conjoined at the hip, the mind, the soul
and the warmth that we have made together
makes this snow feel like a feather
lighter than the feet and inches
the loads we tary under
the depths we're buried under
and the grace that grows within
